University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt
The University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) is one of the biggest universities of applied sciences in Bavaria and the only one with a special focus on English-taught undergraduate programmes. The broad and forward-looking programmes cover technology, economics, social sciences, computer sciences, visual design and language. A practical semester, project work and a high share of practical work in laboratories and seminars underline the importance of a practice-oriented approach at FHWS.
As a University of Applied Sciences, embedded in a network with representatives of regional business, industry and society, FHWS attaches great relevance to the promotion of internationalization: Since 2014, FHWS has been the first German university to offer Bachelor’s degrees in engineering throughout in German and English (award winning “TWIN-programs“), which enable and promote a language change during the course.
Besides engineering and technology, FHWS has a strong focus on social sciences. The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences offers BA programs in social work, healthcare management, media management and the MA programs in social work, international social work with refugees and migrants (taught in English), behavior-oriented advice and music therapy for people with disabilities and dementia.
