Transilvania University of Brasov (UniTBv) was founded in 1948 and is the largest comprehensive public university in the central region of Romania. While its history incorporated the scientific, industrial, and cultural traditions of the region, its focus is currently defined by its aspirations for innovation, creativity, and relevance for the contemporary society.

The educational offer builds on interdisciplinarity and reflects the comprehensive structure of the university, aiming towards top performance in education, international mobility, and the richness of students’ social and cultural experience. Research at UniTBv is devoted to the development of human and social capital, aiming to promote interdisciplinary action-research focused on sustainable development of individuals, organizations and communities, supported by the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the R&D Institute, one of the largest research platforms in South-Eastern Europe. UTBv has a solid focus on internationalization (at home and abroad), having strong international ties with centres of excellence throughout Europe and overseas for education and research.
