European HEIs on a mission to create a better world
The European University Alliance of Inclusion, Integration and Involvement – 3IN Alliance – was established in 2019 as a knowledge creating and learning community consisting of 35 500 students, 2 300 teachers, researchers and administrators, and hundreds of stakeholders at diverse European HEIs; Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (Finland), VID Specialized University (Norway), the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (Germany), Transilvania University of Brasov (Romania) and ISAVE Higher Education Institution of Health (Portugal).
Diversity as a superpower
3IN Alliance institutions vary significantly in terms of size and combination of study fields, as well as pedagogical, academic and professional orientation. We all have unique traditions and profiles, with distinguished and recognized regional, national and international strengths, and we all are actively strengthening our strategic partnerships, both within and outside the European Union. Together, we represent a wide range of disciplines, e.g. in social and health sciences, social work, medicine, humanities, business, engineering, robotics, communication and sign languages.
Commitment to co-create a European University
The fundamental purpose of the 3IN Alliance, and our ambitious long-term goal, is to co-create an innovative European University modus operandi for a better world—a world where no one is left behind. In our mission for a world where no one is left behind, 3IN Alliance institutions are committed to sharing and combining intellectual capacity, human and material resources, and experience and ideas in the areas of education; research, development and innovation activities; support services; and partnerships. This commitment takes concrete form in our joint long-term strategy comprising a step-by-step action plan to integrate all levels and functions of the 3IN Alliance institutions within a joint European University.
The goal of the 3IN Alliance is to create new, innovative life-long learning opportunities, improve the accessibility of education, diversify the modes of mobility and enrich regional development and capacity-building. As such, the alliance adds value to students, teachers, researchers and partners through a shared educational strategy with strong linkages to both research and innovation and close collaboration with business and society.
